  • Assistant Surgeon: SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack (Worked in the Casualty Department until 1976). During this tenure, introduced Contact Lenses to Odisha Odisha and established the first Contact Lens Clinic at SCBMCH, Cuttack (1976).
  • Postgraduate Research: Completed a thesis on “Orbital Prosthesis Following Exenteration,” conducting experimental work on 15 monkeys and human beings, reflecting his academic and clinical dedication.
  • Academic Career: Worked across three government medical colleges in Odisha. Retired in 2000 as Professor of Ophthalmology from VSS Medical College, Burla.

 

Contributions to Ophthalmology:

  • Pioneering Contact Lens Clinics: Prof. Dr. Tripathy was the first to bring contact lens technology to Odisha, setting up the first-ever Contact Lens Clinic in the state at SCB Medical College, Cuttack in 1976.
  • Academic Contributions: Authored a significant thesis on Orbital Prosthesis, contributing to advancements in post-exenteration treatment.
  • Community Eye Care: In 2008, Prof. Dr. Tripathy established a Village-Based Eye Hospital in his hometown, Ostapur, Kendrapara, providing essential eye care services to underserved rural populations.
