I was born and brought up in Bhubaneswar. My initial schooling was from St Joseph’s High School and thereafter Sainik School, Bhubaneswar. My medical schooling was at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, Odisha from the year 1991 to 1997 & then went on to do Postgraduation in ophthalmology at VSS medical College, Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha in the year 1998. After completion of postgraduation, I joined the St. Gregorius Balagram Eye Hospital, Yacharam, Andhra Pradesh (Now Telangana). It was a partner hospital of LVPEI network. There I could significantly increase the number of patients taking services and making it sustainable at the same time. After my fellowship in cornea and anterior segment at L V Prasad Eye Institute, KAR Campus, Hyderabad in the year 2005-06, I joined as a faculty in LVPEI’s Mithu Tulsi Chanrai (MTC)Campus Bhubaneswar in the year of 2006. As a faculty I was able to give an impact in clinical services including cornea and cataract. I was able to start many new procedures in the state of Odisha (such as DALK, DESK,DMEK, SLET & K-Pro). I have done one year research fellowship in Schepens Eye Research Institute, Boston, Harvard University with Dr Sunil Singh. I have given a significant contribution to research publication, most of which are focused on Microsporidial keratoconjunctivitis and its sequel and few on VKC. Currently, I work as the Head of MTC campus from July 2021.
